Two-level experiments for binary response data

چکیده
Information in a statistical experiment is often measured through the determinant of its information matrix. Under first order normal linear models, the determinant of the information matrix of a two-level factorial experiment neither depends on where the experiment is centered, nor on how it is oriented, and balanced allocations are more informative than unbalanced ones with the same number of runs. In contrast, under binary response models, none of these properties hold. The performance of two-level experiments for binomial responses is explored by investigating the dependence of the determinant of their information matrix on their location, orientation, range, presence or absence of interactions and on the relative allocation of runs to support points, and in particular, on the type of fractionating involved. Conventional wisdom about two-level factorial experiments, which is deeply rooted on normal response models, does not apply to binomial models. In binary response settings, factorial experiments should not be used for screening or as building blocks for binary response surface exploration, and there is no alternative to the optimal design theory approach to planning experiments. © 2008 Elsevier B.V. The Analysis of Bayesian Probit Regression of Binary and Polychotomous Response Data
The goal of this study is to introduce a statistical method regarding the analysis of specific latent data for regression analysis of the discrete data and to build a relation between a probit regression model (related to the discrete response) and normal linear regression model (related to the latent data of continuous response). This method provides precise inferences on binary and multinomia...
متن کاملBinary Regression With a Misclassified Response Variable in Diabetes Data
Objectives: The categorical data analysis is very important in statistics and medical sciences. When the binary response variable is misclassified, the results of fitting the model will be biased in estimating adjusted odds ratios. The present study aimed to use a method to detect and correct misclassification error in the response variable of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), applying binary ...
متن کاملطراحی شبکه عصبی مصنوعی برای مدلبندی پاسخهای دو متغیره آمیخته و کاربرد آن در دادههای پزشکی
Background & Objective: Mixed outcomes arise when, in a multivariate model, response variables measured on different scales such as binary and continuous. Artificial neural networks (ANN) can be used for modeling in situations where classic models have restricted application when some of their assumptions are not met. In this paper, we propose a method based on ANNs for modeling mixed binary a...

Background & Objectives: Due to the increasing tendency to measure the quality of life in recent years and the extensive quality of life questionnaires, it is important to determine the appropriate method of analyzing data derived from these studies. The aim of the present study was to introduce ordinal logistic regression models as an appropriate method for analyzing the data of quality of li...
متن کاملProposed Procedure for Estimating the Coefficient of Three-factor Interaction for 2^p 3^m 4^q Factorial Experiments (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Three-factor interaction for the two-level, three-level, and four-level factorial designs was studied. A new technique and formula based on the coefficients of orthogonal polynomial contrast were proposed to calculate the effect of the three-factor interaction The results show that the proposed technique was in agreement with the least squares method. The advantages of the new technique are 1) ...
